Daring Greatly Biography
Daring Greatly is a dynamic rock band rooted in classic influences and built on powerful vocal harmonies, heartfelt songwriting, and an unrelenting commitment to the road. Formed in 2014 by Canadian-born brothers Patrick and Liam Croome, and drummer Brayden Tario, the band emerged from Calgary with a deep love for timeless rock and soul, chasing a vision that eventually led them south to Southern California.
Their journey hasn’t been easy. Early on, the motorhome they had just purchased to tour in literally went up in flames—burned to the ground before it even hit the road. But instead of folding, they rebuilt, hustled, and carried on. That resilience has carried them through a decade of DIY touring, recording, and growing—both personally and as a band. Along the way, they recorded a demo with members of Lynyrd Skynyrd in Nashville and earned a reputation for high-energy performances and deep emotional resonance.
After years of rotating players and evolving sound, the band solidified its lineup with the additions of Jeff Starkey (guitar) and Brendan Cutrer (bass), creating their strongest and most cohesive lineup to date. Together, they’ve developed a sound that blends classic rock grit, country-inspired storytelling, and soul-driven harmonies—anchored by raw performances that range from anthemic jams to intimate ballads.
Their genre-spanning sets have landed them alongside a wide range of acts—from Lainey Wilson, Rodney Atkins, and Midland to Young the Giant, Plain White T’s, Sublime with Rome, and Bon Jovi (T-Mobile Arena, 2017). The diversity speaks for itself. The talent is undeniable.
Daring Greatly’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. The band won Best Video and Best Rock/Indie Song at the 2025 San Diego Music Awards, following their 2023 Song of the Year win for “Never A Goodbye.” They’ve also earned multiple Artist of the Year nominations over the past three years.
And yet—they remain completely independent. No label. No management. Everything from booking and tour logistics to album production and merch design is done in-house. Not because they wouldn’t welcome the right partner—but because they’ve never waited for one.
Now, in 2025, they return to the road for their biggest Canadian-U.S. tour yet in support of their new album Let It Ride—a soulful, harmony-rich record that captures the heart and hustle of a band still chasing it with everything they’ve got.
"When I first met them in Nashville, and heard them play and sing in the studio, I was truly impressed. They have a sound and a chemistry together that is unique and inspiring.” - Peter Keys of Lynyrd Skynyrd

“Their musicianship is incredible given their age, and their harmonies are as good as anyone I have ever heard. The industry has not heard an act like this for a very long time. I believe this talented group will be talked about in the same breath as the Eagles, and Crosby Stills Nash and Young- Seriously!” - Dave Temple – MCC Studios (CCMA studio of the year 2013, 2014)
