About this concert
Join award winning poet Valerie A Szarek and Billboard Magazine award winning singer songwriter Laurie D (Laurie Dameron) for Boulder Arts Week. This will be a multimedia extravaganza. We will focus on love, spirituality, social and environmental justice in honor of the month of April for Earth Day!
Valerie A. Szarek is an award-winning performance Poet and Native American Flute player. Her poems are healing, present, political, and Shamanic, and cross between the seen and unseen worlds effortlessly. She has published three books of poetry.
Billboard Magazine award recipient, Laurie Dameron, has been playing the guitar for over 50 years and singing even longer. Between solo performances and performances with her band she has performed for hundreds of venues in and out of Colorado over the past 35 years. She has produced three albums and three singles and working on two new albums. She is also an environmental activist.

Billboard Magazine award recipient, Laurie Dameron, has been playing the guitar for over 50 years and singing even longer. Between solo performances and performances with her band, Laurie D and the Blues Babes, she has performed for hundreds of venues in and out of Colorado over the past 30 years.

Laurie is versatile and includes selections from folk, instrumental, pop, country, blues, and jazz that allow her to play a variety of venues. Recent performances include Boulder Creek Festival, Capital Hill People's Fair and A Taste of Colorado and the 2008 Colorado Democratic Convention. Other performances include Denver’s popular clubs including Dazzle Jazz Club, The D Note, Mead Street Station and Mary’s Lake Lodge in beautiful Estes Park.
Dameron has opened for some of Denver’s most popular bands such as The Informants, The Delta Sonics, Lionel Young Band and Chris Daniels and the Kings.
In March of 2010 Laurie did a tour of New Zealand consisting of seven solo concerts and two concerts with Laurie D and the Blues Babes. She opened for Pacific Curls, Her Make Believe Band and also for New Zealand’s legend Midge Marsden.
