Jacquie Daniels Biography

Jacquie Daniels emerges as a Metis Outlaw Country Artist, seemingly born with a microphone in her grip and a heart that beats to the rhythm of rebellion. Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, and with deep roots in the Red River Settlement, Jacquie’s music is raw, real, and rebellious. Her recent conquests include seizing the number 1 spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown, nominations such as Country Rock Group and Songwriter of the Year at the 10th Annual Josie Awards plus titles of Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 North America Country Music Awards International, effectively solidifying her status as an undeniable powerhouse.

Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Jacquie and her band, The Blank Slates, recently rocked the St. Albert Rainmaker Rodeo, opening for Steven Lee Olsen and the James Barker Band. They are up for six Nashville Josie Awards, including:

Songwriter of the Year

Female Vocalist of the Year

EP of the Year

Song of the Year

Southern Rock Band of the Year

Her latest single, "Small Town Beauty Queen," hit #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown and is hot on SiriusXM Indigiverse. Her other single, "Wild Child," was also spun on SiriusXM Indigiverse. Additionally, her music has been added to multiple Apple Music Indigenous playlists such as Boots and Mocs and Indigenous Now. Jacquie's accolades also include clinching the coveted title of Best Original Song at YYC Rising Star 2022 and leaving her mark on prestigious platforms like the Jim Beam National Talent Search and Canadian Music Week. Her presence has graced the hallowed halls of the Bluebird Cafe, and she has commanded the stage as the opening act for both Sloan and One Bad Son. Jacquie and The Blank Slates also played the Country Music Alberta Red Carpet Showcase.

Following her triumphs on the global stage, she found herself under the guidance of luminaries such as Will Nance, Patricia Conroy, Pam Tillis, RyLee Madison, and Clay Krasner during a transformative songwriting boot camp held in the heart of Nashville. Jacquie's musical journey has intertwined with renowned artists like Clayton Bellamy, Donna & Leroy, Lisa Hewitt, and Donny Parenteau.

Her sonic tapestry evokes the imagery of smoky cigarettes, the allure of whiskey over ice, and the nostalgic aroma of well-worn leather. Her vocals bear a raspy authenticity reminiscent of Beth Hart, while her indomitable spirit draws inspiration from the likes of 1970s Country Outlaws such as Jennings, Cash, Paycheck, and Haggard. Armed with a horn section and a cowhide-clad stand-up bass, she embodies a mix of "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and the spirit of Dolly Parton with a dash of Jennings' edge.

Daniels is the veritable wild card, fully capable of leaving an indelible impact while adorned in rhinestones, ready to deliver an unapologetic musical knockout.
