About this concert
Clover Club—Carl Johnson on guitar and Victoria Temiz on vocals.
We'll be weaving through the tapestry of jazz from when the form was young and wild. The songs might come from different decades, but we find that golden thread that runs through them all—that conversation between voice and string that feels both ancient and new with every performance.
Join us for an evening where the space between the notes matters as much as the notes themselves.

Clover Club Jazz Biography
Victoria Temiz and Carl Johnson are two Minneapolis-based musicians who have come together to form the musical duo, Clover Club — hot jazz, blues, and French chanson.
Victoria Temiz is known for her powerful vocals and beautiful tone; she can carry any tune with style and grace. She holds a degree in Vocal Performance from Duquesne University's Mary Pappart School of Music where she studied opera and jazz. Victoria has also been seen performing in the Twin Cities in the Minnesota Choral as well as the Spicy Opera Company.
Guitarist Carl Johnson has been playing since age six and has studied at the Berklee School of Music and is currently attending the University of Minnesota's School of Music for a degree in Guitar Performance. He can play just about anything he sets his mind to—from jazz standards to bluesy riffs to classical guitar, he’s got it covered!
Together they create music that's both nostalgic and modern—a perfect soundtrack for those who love the Great American Songbook but also want something new. The duo's influences are clear in their songs: you'll hear Parisian cabaret mixed with occasional American folk ballads. But no matter what style they play you can hear these influences shining through in every note.
They draw on these vintage influences to create a sound that’s distinctly their own—and always 100% fun.
