Angel Dweh Biography
Angel Dweh, (born November 14, 1999) is an award-nominated Liberian-American singer, recording artist, songwriter, composer, dancer, and actor who was born in Monrovia, Liberia to Liberian parents, and later immigrated to the United States.
His effervescent music embodies a truly unique sound mix of multiple genres like Pop, Afropop/Afrobeat, and R&B. It represents his personality and his home country of Liberia. Angel’s distinctive vocal style in the Afropop/Afrobeats music genre has earned him the title of “Afro-Prince.”
Emerging on the music scene in 2020 with the hit singles "Love a Good Thing", "Salud", "Hard for Me" and "Flexin,” Angel grabbed the attention of critics both locally and internationally. His single, “Kokona” was one of the most-played songs on independent radio stations in Nigeria, Liberia, and Tanzania. On the Master Class Radio show in Canada, "Salud" ranked within the top 5 songs on the air. Angel Dweh is a Master Class Radio Award 2020 nominee for Artist of the Month. In Liberia, Angel’s music video for "Hard for Me" placed in the top three ranked videos on Hot TV.
In 2022 Angel Dweh performed at the ACANA African Festival in Philadelphia PA, and at the African American Culture Far in Lancaster PA making him the first Liberian and only African artist to grace the African American Culture Far stage. He's collaborated with two Nigerian producers "Jedstarrr" Labinjo and "MOWA" Cole on his AfroR&B track "Tonight" the lead single for his upcoming EP.
Grabbing the attention of professionals in the music industry and beyond comes easy to the rising star. During his freshman year at LA’s Hussian College In Studio, Angel’s freestyle dance caught the attention of Travis Payne, choreographer for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It.” Frontrvnners, a Canadian clothing brand, discovered Angel on Instagram and signed him as one of the company's youngest brand ambassadors.
