Udsyn Biography
Udsyn navigates smoothly within the jazz genre, avidly borrowing elements from
classical, electronic, and alternative styles, which together constitute a cinematic
soundscape inspired by minimalism and Nordic tonality.
A guitarist from the hardcore, punk, and noise scene. A pianist with a background as a classical singer. A bassist rooted in folk and communal singing. A producer and electronic musician with an interest in film composition. A drummer with musical experience from the pop/rock world.
This is the spectrum of the group's musical backgrounds and foundation, which can be said to span in all directions, but over time they discovered that they had more in common; a mutual understanding and a clear, shared language for what their music should be and achieve.
Since the first two EP releases in 2022, Udsyn has been in the studio working on their upcoming full-length debut album. Its first single, 'det varer ikke ved', received critical acclaim and airplay on Danish national radio, with UK jazzblog Marlbank stating: "We haven't been as taken by a Danish band since hearing Girls in Airports for the first time."
The full album 'Indsigt/Udsigt' is to be released on the record label Blikflak on September 6th 2024.
