Dances, Lullabies and Meditations
Guitarist and composer Aaron Larget-Caplan returns to the Jacob Edwards Library for an exciting program exploring Spanish and flamenco music, a demonic waltz inspired by an Edgar Allan Poe story, two solos by the artist himself, and a world premiere for guitar and electronics that the composer Douglas Knehans writes, “seeks to marry the tears of clouds with those cloudy moments in our lives that likewise elicit tears.”

Composer and classical guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan searches for the life in music & music in life. He has premiered over 120 compositions, directs the Spanish music & dance ensemble ¡Con Fuego!, while curating the New Lullaby Project commissioning endeavor, and the Now Musique recital series. His arrangements and recording of the music of John Cage are the first to be sanctioned by the estate and have received international accolades. He has 11 solo albums which have earned over 6 million streams, including albums dedicated to J.S. Bach, John Cage, Spanish romantic and flamenco composer, contemporary composers, and his own music. Raised in Colorado he makes his home in Boston.
