About this concert
Join us at a special launch party packed with a variety of highlights on Wednesday 28 May at 6pm at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre. Meet the singers in our Young Artists Programme, ahead of their performances in Hamlet and Shorts. They’ll be performing a variety of favourite arias, from Mozart to Massenet and Donizetti to Dove, combined with beloved duets and trios, culminating in the finale of Mozart’s The Impresario, offering a taste of the festival to come.
Learn about the behind-the-scenes process of curating a book festival with BIF’s book director Victoria Dawson. She’ll discuss the ‘ups and downs’ in a light-hearted interview.
There’ll also be jazz from Peak District singer-songwriter Hannah Brine, who’s making her BIF debut supporting Rumer at the Opera House on 20 July. Inspired by the Great American Songbook, Hannah’s voice and song writing style has been likened to Carole King, Norah Jones as well as Rumer.
