Thanks for attending Our 3rd Annual LegionFest! This is one of our most important fundraisers for Post 42 to support our vets and local community charities! Kids under 18 are FREE, bring your lawn chair or blanket, Patio 42 Bar will be open at 11:00 AM for refreshments, and bbq w/ sides served by Smoke Staff starting at 2:00 pm! 10 Bands from 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM 11:00 AM Tim Duggan Express Tim Duggan Express will open Legionfest for the 3rd straight year! Tim Duggan Express is Tim and Liesel Duggan, a father-daughter combo performing classic Americana and original folk music. They have entertained many times at Post 42, as well as local farmers markets and coffeehouses. Tim has a 40+ year performing history, and Liesel is a theatre major at the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana. 12:00 Late Breaking News Late Breaking News is an Evanston-based acoustic/electric band that has been performing in a wide range of Chicago and Evanston venues since 2018. Covering an eclectic mix of Americana from the 1950s through the present, the band offers everything from ballads by John Prine and Townes Van Zandt to rockers from Dion, The Eagles and The Allman Brothers Band. LBN is led by John Manos from Evanston who also produces monthly live acts at the Post 42 regularly as part of the Post 42's production team. 1:00 Decoy Prayer Meeting Since 2004 in Chicago, Decoy Prayer Meetings features high-powered honky-tonk/rockabilly from the 1940s through the 1970s. Artists covered include Webb Pierce, Faron Young, Carl Perkins, the Louivins Brothers, Gram Parsons, Ray Price and the Everly Brothers. you can often catch Decoy Prayer Meeting around town, and they play regularly at the Montrose Saloon on the northside! 2:00 Message Debris Message Debris is Post 42's very own rock band who plays a deep catalogue at their Post 42 monthly residency and on the northshore bar circuit. They will be playing rock and roll cuts from the 80s and 90s by The Replacements, REM, Guided by Voices, Tom Petty, and more! Message Debris is composed of local Evanston based musicians John Hayes and John Fox on guitar/vox, Dave Plante on beats, and Jerry Useem on bass/vox. 3:00 Paul Kahlil & Annie Kelchner Paul Kalil and Annie Kelchner weave vocal harmonies that draw you in with acoustic indie-rock songs you’ll remember. Annie’s powerful voice rings out on stages throughout Chicago, fronting bands such as Big Trouble and Annie and the Orphans. Paul and Annie are joined by guitar virtuoso Chris Siebold (Howard Levy 4, Prairie Home Companion). Damaged Novelties, by Paul Kalil and the Local Professionals was called a “must listen” that makes “you believe every word he sings.” On the album, Paul is backed by Chicago-area legends Jason Narducy (Split Single, Bob Mould Band, Superchunk, Sunny Day Real Estate), Steve Dawson (Dolly Varden, Funeral Bonsai Wedding), Matt Walker (Morrissey, Smashing Pumpkins, Filter), Nora O’Connor (Decemberists, Neko Case, New Pornographers), Josh Gilbert (Live.In.Lover, Snow Globe Mules), and Vijay Tellis Nayak (Kick the Cat, Jennifer Hudson). 4:00 The Darling Range The Darling Range is a new band from Chicago featuring members of The Redwalls, Ezra Furman & the Harpoons, Sleep Out, and Lacona. With roots in garage rock, indie pop, and post-punk, the group blends sharp songwriting, chiming guitars, and rich harmonies. Their debut EP Half-Remembering (Lighthouse Beach Records, 2025) channels the spirit of the early 2000s Chicago scene while feeling fresh and lived-in. Featuring Andrew Langer formerly of The Redwalls (Capitol Records) a favorite of Noel & Liam Gallagher having toured extensively with Oasis throughout the US and UK. Quinn Goodwillie (Sleep Out—once praised by Jim DeRogatis as one of the Chicago’s best-kept secrets), and longtime collaborators Andrew Grill and Jon Hill, The Darling Range delivers tightly crafted songs with heart, hooks, and a seasoned liver 5:00 The Attics The Attics are a rock band founded in an attic studio at Lincoln & Berteau Ave in Chicago. They blend a mix of their originals with classic rock-n-roll covers by Neil Young, The Band, Allmans, Pink Floyd, Faces, and the Dead. The Attics have been performing in northside bars and street fests for over 25 years, along with appearances at Fitzgeralds, Legends, House of Blues etc. The Attics are bassist Pete Senechalle “The Counsel”, Chris Knowles on drums, David Plante (Smoking Fish/Rollover) on percussion, and fellow guitarists who grew up together in Springfield, IL: Dave Haas (Golden Egg) and Larry Knox. 6:00 Mr G & the Mystery Band Mr. G & the Mystery Band, serves up pure, supercharged Chicago blues, funk and R&B . Creative and rockin’ original songs are mixed in with covers of familiar and obscure tunes. The Mystery Band is full of Chicago’s top blues/funk musicians and is led by vocalist and harmonica player Mr. G! For LegionFest, the band will include superstar players - E.G. McDaniel on bass, Terrence "T-Man" Williams on drums , Tony Llorens on keyboards and Scot Nev on guitar. Mr. G & the Mystery Band was formed in 2003 and played Chicago area venues, including Buddy Guy’s Legends, Martyr’s, Bill’s Blues (Evanston), the Harlem Avenue Lounge (Berwyn), C.J. Arthur’s (Wilmette), Duke’s (Rogers Park) and the Morse Theater (Rogers Park). The group disbanded in 2010 due to Mr. G’s decision to focus on his “day job.” The group re-launched with outdoor performances during the pandemic. Recent gigs have included Ridgeville (Evanston) Park District's Concerts on Ridge, Buddy Guy’s Legends, Phyllis’ Musical Inn, Cary’s Lounge and Fritzy’s Tavern in Chicago; Double Clutch Brewing, Post 42 and Prairie Moon in Evanston, Sketchbook Brewing in Skokie and the Smiling Moose Saloon in Newton, WI. the band has also been entertaining folks at private events. " 7:00 PM Rollover Louie Zagoras is a seasoned musician, a true pioneer in the world of rock and blues. With a career spanning several decades, he has left an indelible mark on the music industry. As the founder, lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the acclaimed band ROLLOVER, Louie has consistently delivered a unique and electrifying musical experience. Louie's musical journey took off in the 90s when ROLLOVER's first record captured the spotlight on Chicago's 93.1 WXRT FM radio. The breakout single "Shipwreck" catapulted the band to the forefront of the music scene. ROLLOVER's signature sound is a mesmerizing fusion of Roots Rock and the Blues, captivating audiences with every note. Throughout their musical journey, Louie and ROLLOVER have graced stages alongside some of the biggest names in rock music. They've shared the spotlight with acts like The Allman Brothers Band, Joe Satriani, Sheryl Crow, Blues Traveler, The Neville Brothers, Dave Mason, Los Lobos, Jimmy Vaughan, John Hiatt, Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, Robin Trower, Cheap Trick, Hot Tuna, The BoDeans, Buddy Miles, Eddie Money, Foghat, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Savoy Brown, Lucinda Williams, Earl King, Gatemouth Brown, and many more. Their relentless touring, crisscrossing the country from L.A to New York, allowed the band to refine their sound and elevate their already electrifying live performances. 9:00 (Indoors afterparty upstairs at Post 42 )- Gandy Gumbo Gandy Gumbo is a hometown band built on MUSIC ARCHEOLOGY and Born on the roads of America playing their 3rd Legionfest! Gandy Gumbo are music archeologists exploring the stories of America through original music. Bringing stories to the stage, Gandy Gumbo is all about the original songs we play and the deep tracks we unearth. Stirring a pot of Americana, Folk and Blues, Gandy Gumbo is Albie Powers, Mark Blank, Mike McCue and Dean "Deano" Harris. A Knox, Hayes, Plante Production benefiting the veterans of Post 42 and other local charities!
