Mayflower Madame Biography

Mayflower Madame is set to release their highly anticipated third LP "Insight" on November 1st, which will be followed by a string of EU/UK shows. The new album sees them refining their characteristic blend of pulsating post-punk, shimmering shoegaze and atmospheric psych-noir into a sharper and more expansive sonic landscape than ever before. The lead singles, "A Foretold Ecstasy" and "Paint It All in Blue," have already garnered widespread acclaim and extensive radio support, including airtime on BBC 6 Music.

Over the past few years, Mayflower Madame have built a strong reputation far beyond their hometown of Oslo, Norway. Their debut album, "Observed in a Dream" (2016), created a buzz in the indie music press and brought them out on tours across Europe and North America, while the long-awaited sequel, "Prepared for a Nightmare" (2020), further elaborated a sound distinctively their own and earned them rave reviews.

The COVID-19 pandemic struck soon after their sophomore release, making the album’s title eerily appropriate, but in 2022, Mayflower Madame finally returned touring in the UK, France and Eastern Europe. Last year, the band focused on writing new material while also releasing a Deluxe Version of "Prepared for a Nightmare", featuring five new bonus tracks. Their upcoming album "Insight" is launched via their own label Night Cult Records (digital) in collaboration with Up In Her Room (vinyl) and Icy Cold Records (CD).

"If you need a Sergio Leone movie done over with a post-punk soundtrack, we think we’ve found your band." - Stereo Embers Magazine
