Akron, OH – The Shootouts, the high-energy Americana band known for their captivating blend of rustbelt Americana and country, are set to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated album Switchback with a live concert on May 31, 2025, at the Goodyear Theatre in Akron, Ohio.
The concert promises to be a night to remember, with special guest and Grammy-winning artist Jim Lauderdale opening the show and joining The Shootouts on stage as well. Known for his iconic contributions to Americana music, Lauderdale’s collaboration with the band will surely make for an unforgettable evening.
The new album, Switchback, showcases The Shootouts’ signature sound with a fresh blend of heartfelt lyrics, catchy melodies, and a vibrant array of influences. It also features an impressive lineup of special guests, including Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell, Sam Bush, Lindsay Lou, Logan Ledger, and Mickey Raphael.
For this special album release concert, the band will be performing the new album front to back in its entirety, along with some of their most beloved songs from their previous three albums.
Since their formation in 2015, the Shootouts have showcased their talent at SXSW, AmericanaFest, and Sirius XM Outlaw Country. The group’s third album, 2023’s Stampede, was co-produced by Ray Benson of Asleep at The Wheel and spent over 15 weeks in the Top 10 of the Americana Radio Chart.
They have shared the stage with artists like Marty Stuart, Steve Earle, Sheryl Crow, Chris Isaak, Jim Lauderdale, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Additionally, they’ve played the Grand Ole Opry seven times since 2023 and have artifacts currently on display in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The band has performed in 26 US states and recently at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Hailing from Akron, Ohio, The Shootouts are known for their energetic fusion of Rustbelt Americana, roots rock, and country music, which fans often call “country music for people who don’t like country.”
The Shootouts will release their fourth album, Switchback, produced by Dan Knobler (Allison Russell, Bahamas, Lake Street Dive, Rodney Crowell), on May 30, 2025, on Transoceanic Records. The 12-track LP features guests Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell, Sam Bush, Logan Ledger, Lindsay Lou, and Mickey Raphael.
The band has performed with Marty Stuart, Asleep at The Wheel, Steve Earle, Sheryl Crow, Charley Crockett, Chris Isaak, and more.
On February 23, 2023, the Shootouts made their Grand Ole Opry debut, with six follow-up Opry performances since. They made their Ryman Auditorium debut on January 4, 2025. Outfits from the band's debut Opry performance are currently exhibited at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 2023, The Shootouts released their third album, Stampede, co-produced by Ray Benson, lead singer of Asleep at The Wheel. The LP featured guest appearances from Asleep at The Wheel, Marty Stuart, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, and Raul Malo (of The Mavericks). Stampede spent over 15 weeks on the AMA/CDX Americana Radio Chart’s Top 10 (reaching #4) and #1 on The Alt-Country Specialty Chart (3 times). It landed at #24 on the year-end Americana Album Chart for 2023. and the Nashville Scene called the Shootouts a “Country Artist to Watch".
