Gavin McLeod Biography
Gavin McLeod is a 24-year-old Canadian singer, songwriter, and musician from Toronto. Growing up in a musical family, Gavin played his first professional gig at the age of 10. He spent his teenage years performing at hundreds of venues and festivals across Canada, building a dedicated online following. Gavin's Youtube channels have amassed over 116 thousand subscribers combined, with his success on the platform translating into multiple TV appearances and collaborations throughout his young career.
Gavin's raw guitar-based sound and honest lyrics are complemented by his powerful band, drawing inspiration from his heroes Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, and contemporary artists like Sam Fender. Gavin wears his influences on his sleeve and strives to bring that energy to his live shows and songwriting.
In the summer of 2022, Gavin and his band performed at the RBC Ottawa Bluesfest alongside Luke Combs and the Revivalists. They spent the remainder of the year playing some of Toronto's most notable venues, eventually headlining their first Saturday night show at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern. Playing in front of a packed crowd, this marked the tenth anniversary of Gavin's 'Jammin For Joy' charity concert series, which he has organized since he was 13.
Recently, Gavin received the coveted FACTOR Juried Sound Recording Grant, providing full financial support for the recording, marketing, and international touring of his debut album. Gavin and his band entered the recording studio at the beginning of 2023 to begin work on their inaugural release with producer Ross Hayes Citrullo. The full album will hit shelves in early 2024.
