Canary Bones Biography
Canary Bones is a Noise Rock/Post-Hardcore band from Naarm (so-called Melbourne, Australia) recommended to fans of artists such as Hüsker Dü, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Swans, At the Drive-In, Deftones, Helmet, Envy, Jesu, Coalesce, Botch or Poison The Well. Their sound mixes gritty vocals, angular guitar riffs, thumping bass lines and driving drums with more dynamic and progressive elements, including textural ambient drones, soaring synths and monolithic tones. This pairing of sonic intensity and rhythmic tranquillity matches the bleak but hopeful lyrics covering topics such as post-pandemic anxiety, family estrangement, parental burnout, and the disappointment of unmet expectations.
