Big Country is een van de meest iconische rockbands uit Schotland, bekend om hun unieke mix van postpunk, new wave en Schotse folk-invloeden. Sinds hun doorbraak in de jaren 80 weet de band nog altijd publiek over de hele wereld te raken met hun krachtige, anthems en herkenbare sound. Na het overlijden van Stuart Adamson in 2001 besloot Big Country zijn muzikale nalatenschap voort te zetten. Sinds hun terugkeer in 2007 blijft de band zowel toeren als nieuwe muziek uitbrengen. Ondanks het verlies van hun frontman is de band altijd trouw gebleven aan zijn visie en aan de muzikale reis van Big Country, waardoor hun muziek ook nieuwe generaties weet te bereiken. Pistol Daisys Biography
The Pistol Daisys are making waves in the alt-pop world, blending Glasgow’s vibrant grit with heartfelt authenticity to create music that captivates audiences from Scotland to Europe. After a successful UK tour supporting Callum Beattie, delivering brilliant back-to-back performances at The Barrowlands in December, Pistol Daisys will be bringing their signature, high-octane live sets back out in April 2025, supporting Scottish Rock heavyweights Big Country, on top of various festivals across the UK.
As they prepare to go on the road once more, the Daisys are also gearing up for the release of a new single, ‘Crying in Marseille’. The song was penned by the two girls in a small studio apartment in France, the morning after they delivered an electrifying set at Rock in Aix-en-Provence, where they played to 15,000 fans.
The song, a dance-pop number with a rock edge, boasts a fresh sound that somehow feels both familiar and foreign. While the production clearly hints at the group's love for 80s icons like Blondie and Kate Bush, it's the searing guitar riffs and powerful vocal chemistry that makes Crying in Marseille a classic Pistol Daisys tune.
