About this concert
2025 is set to be a breakout year for Auckland-based, singer-songwriter, Emerson, as she steps into the spotlight of her first headline show.
The 17 year old Rockquest Solo-Duo winner (2024) is off to a great start with her first release of 2025 “You Really Must Hate Me!” which debuted in the #10 spot on the official Aotearoa Hot 20 Singles Chart in February. It has since racked up over 50 K streams on Spotify and garnered international attention with four international Spotify Editorial playlists, including *hits different*, Pop n’ Fresh and Fresh Finds Pop.
She debuted her live act last year when she opened for Bella Rafflyn at The Tuning Fork to a nearly sold out crowd. She played on the Flying Out stage of The Other’s Way Festival and recently opened for Will Swinton at The Double Whammy to a (nearly) sold out crowd, performing more of an acoustic set.
A sought-after songwriter, Emerson has co-written songs with local artists such as Frankie Venter (“I Like it Like That”), Teo Glacier, Keenan Te, Macey, Rosetta and Lottie. - You might hear her on backing vocals here and there.
She’ll be playing all her fan-favourites, including Bored, which debuted in 2024 at #16 on Aotearoa’s Hot 20 chart, and won ZM’s Best Song at last year’s Rockquest National Final. A highlight of the night will be her debut single- a track and accompanying music video supported by NZOA - which releases the next day. You’ll also be able to hear a range of upcoming releases that you can only hear live at her show, including Tip of My Tongue, which just received an NZ on Air New Music Single grant.
She’s so excited to be teaming up with pop-indie artist Lucy Gray from Ōtautahi, Christchurch who is flying to Auckland especially for the show. Lucy’s 2024 debut EP ‘whole life waiting’, has over 200,000 streams with 4 songs hitting the Aotearoa Hot 20 Singles charts at #19, #15, #9 and #5. Her recent release ‘Polar Ortbi’, is a big hit with growing her social media fan base of over 75K.
Local North Shore artist KENZY will join the line up offering a fresh take on indie pop, blending candid songwriting with infectious melodies that evoke nostalgia and bittersweetness. Her recent releases, 'Bad Again' and 'Cavities', offer a raw look at love and loss, drawing listeners in with intimate vocals and razor-sharp lyrics. In 2025, KENZY is gaining momentum, growing her audience online and refining her sound for future releases and performances that will resonate with listeners both locally and globally.

Lucy Gray Biography
Lucy is a pop-indie performer, singer and songwriter from Ōtautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand. She’s recently released ‘Polar Orbit’, which was very well received having gained nearly 60K streams already, growing her social media fan base to over 75K.
She plans to release her next single ‘Soft Spoken' on March 28th, with an official Music Video. ‘Soft Spoken’ is a heartfelt, confessional, up-beat, indie-pop track that’s the perfect summer to follow ‘Polar Orbit’s’ winter. This track was recorded and produced by Jack Hegarty and Emily. C. Browning, and mixed by Jamie Boyle.
‘Soft Spoken’ is a track about being delusionally in love with the idea of someone. Inspired by the likes of Chappell Roan’s synth-pop production and chantable lyrics in ‘Good Luck Babe!’, MUNA’s bright, bubbly and youthful ‘Silk Chiffon’ and also draws inspirations for Lorde’s darker drama filled synth pop in tracks like ‘Supercut’.
She has an upcoming show at The Tuning Fork on April 4th opening for Emerson, and she has Auckland and Christchurch pop up release parties scheduled for the end of March to celebrate her release, sell merch, connect with her audience and do an acoustic set. She has produced a merch line to support her 2025 releases that will be released at the same time as her new single ‘Soft Spoken’.
Her next single following her release in March, will be released in May, and she plans to do a NZ Tour following future releases.
