Aarne Pelkonen

Baritone Aarne Pelkonen is one of the most sought-after opera singers in Finland. Audiences will remember his competition successes at the Lappeenranta National Singing Competition (2013) and the International Jean Sibelius Singing Competition (2015). He has also garnered success at several competitions outside Finland too.
In addition to performing on stages, Aarne has sung his way into the hearts of Finns through numerous TV programs, recordings, and social media videos. During the 2015–2017 seasons, Aarne was a regular soloist with the opera company at the state theatre in Oldenburg, Germany. At the Finnish National Opera, he made his debut in the lead role of Jaakko Kuusisto’s Ice Opera in 2019 and has since been a regular guest at the Opera house.
