Creekbed Carter Hogan

Went out to the show, first time at the Pearl but hit my first time in Locke. For starters, the town and venue makes you feel transported into a place outside of time. Which was perfect for Creekbed Carter Hogan took us on an amazing journey. Let me start by saying, it’s rare to have a musician be better than their record, but CCH was absolutely stunning. The show felt more than just someone singing some songs but almost a one person show with audience participation. He definitely has thought about what he’s saying before saying it while also being conversational, engaging, and even caring for the audience. It was a lightning in a bottle type of show that influences someone to drive home and stay up till far too late playing guitar and singing songs. The venue owner Mark was there and extremely kind and hospitable along with his sweet dog who I became friends with(not at all because I was eating pizza but purely because we are kindred spirits). All in all, top 5 favorite shows I’ve experienced in my lifetime. Made this recovering theater kid, jaded metal head, ragged clothed, IWW card holding, woebegone anarchist train rider have a sense that art can still unite and touch peoples’ souls.
