About this concert
Phoebe Killdeer & The Shift (7:45-8:45 p.m.)
THE SHIFT aren’t just a band, they’re a dark alley seance, conjured by Berlin misfits Phoebe Killdeer and Ole Wulfers. Since their 2016 debut with “The Piano’s Playing the Devil’s Tune,” they’ve been concocting a strange mix of electronic whispers, backroom folk, and experimental pop—like a fairground ride that only runs after midnight. Their songs oscillate between the melancholic, the playful, and the deeply mysterious—always with a wink and a punch to the gut. And if that weren’t enough, artist Veronika Schumacher paints this whole fever dream in light, bringing visual magic to their live shows.
EVA BLANCHE (9:15 p.m.-10:15 p.m.)
EVA BLANCHE mixes rock, pop, electro and trip-hop in a new kind of ART ROCK musical architecture. A cinematic overprint spins her pieces. After the release of her EP Metropole Paradise in 2023, Eva celebrates the release of her first album at Café de la Danse this Friday, May 16.
Dive into unique and singular intensity and drama!

Phoebe Killdeer Biography
Phoebe Killdeer, producer, songwriter, and singer, stands out with her eclectic artistry and compelling performances. Her live shows are visceral experiences. Known for delving into the dark side of the human condition, her emotive and mesmerising voice and stage presence rivals that of Siouxsie and PJ Harvey.
She initially gained recognition with the French band Nouvelle Vague before pursuing a solo career with Phoebe Killdeer & The Short Straws. Notably, "The Fade Out Line," co-written with Craig Walker & Cedric Le Roux, was reworked by French deep house DJ The Avener as "Fade Out Lines," achieving global chart success.
Killdeer formed The Shift with Ole Wulfers, releasing the experimental album "The Piano's Playing The Devil's Tune" in 2016, featuring Portuguese actress and singer Maria De Medeiros. Their second album is now ready for release. She also co-founded Them There with Craig Walker, releasing "Love Is an Elevator" album in 2018, showcasing a range of talented musicians.
Recently, Killdeer reunited with Melanie Pain of Nouvelle Vague for "Kill The Pain," a project that blends humoristic storytelling with dynamic performances with a twist of Punk. Their self-titled debut was released in early 2023 and is currently on tour.
Her latest venture is a collaboration with Marc Collin, Tuareg musicians Sanou Ag Ahmed and Hicham Bouhasse, bending sound and time…
Killdeer is on a constant search to expand her sonic horizons, working not only with instruments but sonic sounds. The quest is in the creation of a piece of music that tells its own story. Her relentless pursuit of new musical horizons and ability to merge varied artistic elements make her a singular force in today’s music landscape, inviting listeners to experience music in more profound ways.
