The 5 stars is for the overall night. Camello Road, Daphne + The Glitches and, of course, Chrome Rhino were all very awesome. To speak specifically of Daphne + The Glitches, I’m not ashamed to admit that she was not on my radar before, but I’m glad she is now. They closed their set with Power Shifter. It was a great energetic track to finish their set with and made me wish they had more time on stage. I will certainly be watching for the next time they play. Until then, I’m hoping Ghost Moone is gonna be good.

Daphne + The Glitches Biography
Daphne + The Glitches, the Phoenix-based glam, nerd-rock outfit, crafts music for those who consider themselves nerds, geeks, misfits, queers or whatever you wanna call yourself!
After finding success with her debut band Statues of Cats, singer/songwriter and guitarist Daphne Greene, returned to her hometown with a vision: to create a band that would fuse the worlds of nerd-rock and glam-rock. Drawing inspiration from musical icons like David Bowie, Weezer, and The Gorillaz, the band explores themes of queerness and trans-identity through motifs of technology, video games, and pop culture through their music and lyrics.
Daphne + The Glitches recently released ‘Power Shifter’ on a vinyl compilation record featuring notable Arizona artists on Hookworm Records. They’ve also graced the stage of Marquee Theatre, opening for ZOSO, and have honed their skills at renowned Arizona venues.
The band’s debut single, ‘Power Shifter,’ delves into Daphne’s deeply personal journey as a transgender female. The lyrics tell a tale of starting with all the power, challenging nature, solving riddles, and gaining insight only when you’re blind. The chorus underscores a profound shift, where blindness becomes a means to finally see one’s true self and embrace the path to becoming something more. The repeated call to “shift inside” captures the essence of a transformation, aligning with Samson’s eventual realization and ultimate redemption. ‘Power Shifter’ becomes a modern metaphor for self-acceptance, personal growth, and embracing one’s true identity, much like Samson’s journey of self-discovery in the face of adversity.
With new music on the horizon, produced by the talented Bob Hoag (known for his work with The Maine, The Ataris, The Format, The Technicolors, and Fairy Bones), Daphne + The Glitches are ready to bring their in the first quarter of 2024.
