Written in St. Petersburg, Berlin, and Athens, produced in collaboration with Jaakko Eino Kalevi, and released on the Hamburg label Bureau B, the album renders existential, psychological, and philosophical themes in song form. Exploring motivation and self-doubt, the long shadow of the Soviet Union, and collective empathy with a cinematic flair, Chikiss balances darkness and light, ultimately landing on the side of hope in her most refined and polished vocal album to date. Over the past two decades, she has followed her own artistic path through post-punk, minimal wave, experimental electronica, and live improvisation, building an impressive catalog of emotive and innovative music. Taking an intuitive approach to her craft, Chikiss acts as a conduit for her own experiences and the turbulence of the world around her. For this special night at the theater space of Ballhaus Prinzenallee, she will be joined on stage by Jaakko Eino Kalevi, Die Wilde Jagd, Saeko Killy, Sveta Ben, Mustelide, and more friends, making this performance an unmissable and collaboration between remarkable artists and bright experience for all present.
