Ulrike Haage is a visionary composer, pianist, sound artist, and radioplay author who stands as one of Germany's most versatile and innovative musicians. Seamlessly traversing the realms of jazz, experimental, and classical music, she has captivated audiences with her profound artistry and emotional depth. Her solo discography, beginning with the critically acclaimed Sélavy (2004), followed by Weisses Land (2006), Infinitum (2011), Maelstrom (2015), Stills (2018), Himmelsbaum (2020) & Alles Licht (2024), showcases her ability to craft immersive soundscapes that transcend traditional genre boundaries. Each album reflects her unique ability to blend minimalistic tones with complex emotional narratives. Haage's work extends beyond the realm of music into the world of film and other artistic collaborations. Her soundtracks for documentaries like Zwiebelfische, Goldrausch, Berlin 1945 - Tagebuch einer Großstadt, as well as her evocative score for Doris Dörrie's Fukushima mon amour, are distinguished by their seamless integration with visual media, enhancing the storytelling with an almost subliminal touch.
