For over 2 decades, Pete & Maura Kennedy have traversed the highways and byways of the US and UK. Their music is positive, uplifting, and empowering. Touring as members of Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra led to hosting a nationwide radio program, “The Dharma Cafe” on Sirius/XM, writing and the releasing sixteen CDs of original music, and becoming core artists on folk radio. It’s a pleasure to welcome them to Downtown Music.

An all around terrific house concert! The host and hostess were friendly, the artists talented and warm - circulated during the pre-show potluck dinner. The venue was nicely conceived for such events, on beautiful grounds! Top notch!

In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, and a Byrds-inspired jangle that drew the attention of McGuinn, Steve Earle, and most notably Nanci Griffith. The duo co-produced Nanci’s latest CD, and are currently touring the US and the British Isles with the Texas songstress.
