Nimbus Sextet

Joe Nichols-led outfit Nimbus Sextet have firmly established themselves as an increasingly major voice in the vibrant European jazz scene bringing their electrifying blend of jazz, world and dance music. Nimbus Sextet’s albums DREAMS FULFILLED (2020) and FORWARD THINKER (2022) were both released on the iconic Acid Jazz label. Nimbus Sextet, now with a three part horn section will take their evolving sound to new heights, performing music from their hotly anticipated third album including brand new single Crusade. Their version of Roy Ayers Ubiquity's ‘SEARCHING’ (a collaboration with long-time producers Nuovi Fratelli) has enjoyed major support at radio; championed by Gilles Peterson, Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show and topping the A List of Jazz FM's playlist for three weeks in a row. Craig Charles later featured the track in his best releases of 2024. Championed by Jazz FM, Nimbus Sextet have garnered international acclaim from the likes of Jazzwise, Clash Magazine, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music among many others. They have recorded live sessions with Radio France Internationale (RFI), Jazz FM and BBC Radio Scotland, and collaborated with internationally esteemed musicians including Chip Wickham, Nathaniel Cross, Ze Leonidas, Sefo Kanuteh and Charlotte de Graaf, and the legendary percussionist Steve Forman on their recordings.
