Naima Faraò Biography
Naima Faraò is a singer and composer based in Milan with an artistic background spanning music and visual arts. Active in the independent scene for over a decade, she moves in the sphere of alternative soul and new jazz influences. She is close to the release of "Dots", her debut solo album, featuring original tracks that reflect her ongoing vocal exploration.
Her single "Buoyancy Of Water," released in October 2023 and featuring the renowned Turkish-Swedish saxophonist Ilhan Ersahin, gained significant attention with airplay on top Italian radio stations such as Radio Capital (Oldani, Bertallot), Rai Radio2 (Raffaele Costantino), and Radio Monte Carlo. It also received coverage in specialized magazines like Musica Jazz.
She was the front woman and founder of the alternative soul collective Black Beat Movement, a band that has shared stages with internationally renowned artists including De la Soul, Alpha Blondy, Julian Marley, Hiatus Kaiyote, Luciano, The Coup, Zion Train, Africa Unite, The Bloody Beetroots, and many others. Naima is also a member of the Artchipel Orchestra, defined as one of the most creative realities of the Italian jazz scene, winner of the Top Jazz award as best ensemble in 2012, 2017, and 2022. She is also the alto of the vocal sextet Elephant Claps, an original project that explores multiple soundscapes with the only use of voice and body, winner of several awards in Italy and abroad.
