About this concert
Faeland’s music has attracted widespread acclaim. It’s been championed by BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing amongst others. Their song “End of the Day” features on the soundtrack to the feature film 23 Walks, starring Dave Johns and Alison Steadman. Their mesmerising blend of folk, indie, and world influences creates an experience that feels both timeless and freshly evocative. Known for their intricate, soulful arrangements, Faeland’s sound is defined by delicate acoustic guitars, warm harmonies, and poignant lyrics that often explore themes of nature, love, and healing. Their music seems to draw inspiration from the British Isles’ rich folk traditions but adds a layer of global influence, creating an inviting, eclectic soundscape. Listeners are often struck by the purity and emotive power of Rebecca Nelson’s vocals, which, paired with Jacob Morrison’s instrumental skills, lead to a sound that is introspective and soothing, yet full of vibrant energy. The band’s music has a way of making you feel both grounded and uplifted, as if reconnecting with something essential. Faeland crafts a rare, intimate musical experience that resonates as both modern and ancient, bridging the gap between contemporary indie and timeless folk. “Ethereal acoustic stylings” BBC 6 Music “Beautiful… I just love Rebecca's voice!” BBC Radio Scotland “Seeing Faeland live was a highlight of our year. Great band!” Faeland fan “Sweet sumptuous folk music” BBC South West “A really fabulous band making glorious folk music” BBC Introducing “Beautiful…modern folk songs underpinned with some classic writing” Songwriting Magazine “Rebecca’s voice goes to work on a field of empty souls to help them rise again” Fresh on the Net

Venue is very cosy. Perfect for an intimate performance. First time I have seen Faeland perform and they lived up to all my expectations. Rebecca’s voice is amazing. A pleasant surprise was with a support slot by Asha McCarthy. Overall an absolute perfect evening.

Faeland Biography

Indie-Folk. Songs of love, alchemy and life’s journeys. Beautiful vocals, bittersweet melodies and a cheeky pop edge.

In today’s world, music is often reduced to background noise and treated like a mass-produced product to be sold, even by those who create it. Few in the business give much thought to artistry or how their music impacts those who listen. UK folk-pop duo Faeland is an emerging act that is fully committed to making music that changes lives for the better and adds something good to human existence. Gentle, intuitive, and mystical, the music on Faeland’s debut album All My Swim blends folk traditions from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Singer-songwriter stylings and a dose of pop bring a captivating sound with instant appeal.

Faeland is the brainchild of singer-songwriters Rebecca Nelson and Jacob Morrison, a project designed to break them both out of their comfort zones and to allow them to do meaningful work, not merely start another band. This lead to All My Swim, a song cycle that deals with the deeper themes of humanity like love, healing, and magic. Nelson and Morrison come from families of artists, creatives and healers and this gives a natural quality to these ideas that would flounder in lesser hands. The sound is acoustic guitars and double bass mixed with drums, harp, santour, and violin. Ethereal, bittersweet vocals float across the mix and complete the picture. Echoes of Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and Gillian Welch are detectable but the vibe is original and individual.

Faeland’s sound and mission pair up well together and create a beautiful vulnerability that is authentic and true. Songs like “We’re Just A Love Song”, “All My Swim” and “The Wheel” offer listeners a seductive realness that rises above all the pushed product out there and must be heard and experienced to be fully understood. Faeland’s focus on positive impact and ample musical skills have the potential to touch the world. Fans of well-executed modern folk will want to find this band soon, while it can still be seen up close.
