About this concert
The Empty Pockets are known for their intriguing collaborations, touring the world with Al Stewart, making an album with Simon Kirke (of Bad Company and Free) backing up and writing songs with yacht rock legend Kenny Loggins. When renowned jazz saxophonist Elliot Scozzaro joins the band in earnest, the result is heart pumping, breath taking blues. You can hear these skillful musicians stretching and glorying in the moment. To impress the audience, sure, but mostly to impress (and even surprise!) each other. Erika Brett’s typically powerful and stylish lead vocal anchors the sound with Nate’s bass guitar and Adam’s compact drum kit combing for a smooth and energetic groove, bluesy and funky, but leaving plenty of room for the soloists. Josh’s fender roars out of his Blues Jr, sharp and pure, playing off of Elliot on the alto sax, obviously brimming with talent and chops. It’s an exciting mix that is gonna blast down the doors at The Cave on May 28th and demand a dedicated listen.

The Empty Pockets Biography
Chicago blues rock band, The Empty Pockets ignite a bright flame of their own by harnessing a joyful friction between Americana, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll spiked with roots soul. The Chicago quartet—Josh Solomon [guitar, vocals], Erika Brett [keyboards, vocals], Nate Bellon [bass, vocals], and Adam Balasco [drums]—lean on an unspoken, yet airtight musical dialogue honed by countless miles on the road, performances alongside the likes of Kenny Loggins, a procession of fan favorite releases (including two, #1 debuts), and a wealth of memories together. The musicians shine brighter than ever going into 2025, touring on the strength of their top-of-the-charts releases, the band has never sounded better.
