Furlough Fridays Biography
High Energy. Hard Working.
Formed in 2008, Furlough Fridays has become a fixture in the local music scene of Chico, CA. They are widely known for a familiar yet original “post grunge rock” sound, opening for such acts as Floater (2012), Unwritten Law (2013), Buckcherry (2014), and Halestorm (2015). In Spring of 2013 the band won both the local and regional Hard Rock Battle of the Bands in South Lake Tahoe. They were also voted “Best Rock Act” by the Chico Area Music Awards (CAMMIES).
Furlough Fridays have continued to bring fun and energy to the stage, working hard to maintain a steady flow of new music throughout the years. By 2014 they had released two full length albums. A “best of” version of these can be found on Bandcamp. They released full length album Rumspringa in 2015, EP TGIFF in 2020, and another full length album “Whimsical Sweatshirts” in 2023, all streamable everywhere. The band is now in the process of writing and recording a new project, expected to drop sometime in 2025. Stay tuned for summer tour dates!
