About this concert
Join the former frontman of legendary Manchester band The Creature Comfort for a one-night-only release party in his spiritual home town, celebrating the launch of his debut solo album A Stranger To Your City.
Special supports now announced: Thirteen Thirteen and Woman You Stole.
BEN LE JEUNE
Known for his poetic lyricism, raw energy, and stage presence, Ben brings his intense, powerful and intimate new solo material to the stage.
Expect a full-on live performance, blending dark romanticism with electrifying rock influences —from The Stooges to Serge Gainsbourg. This is a must-see gig for fans of timeless, evocative songwriting.
“Breaking all the damn rules decades into this long and strange journey he has finally stumbled into the magic formulae with a crafted album full of the dark arts. The songwriting is the best of his career, going beyond the ragged edges of rock n roll and into the later period Nick Cave zone. These are deeply thought about songs with the melody allowed to breathe and delivered and produced impeccably.” - John Robb

Ben Le Jeune Biography
Restless troubadour and mercurial Anglo-Belgian frontman Ben Le Jeune is a singer-songwriter who founded The Creature Comfort, a cult underground fixture of the Manchester scene in the late 80’s / 90’s.
A captivating singer, musician and poet, his lyrics are imbued with a dark and dramatic romanticism and recount stories of love and a world gone wrong.
Ben is preparing the release of his highly anticipated debut solo album in late April. A major turning point in his career, it is a journey into his personal night and an exploration of darkness as a source of redemption.
The 10-track collection was produced by Tim Thomas (One Direction, Elbow, Johnny Marr, The Fall), and is the first material to appear since his move from Manchester to France where he embarks on an artistic rebirth.
Through this solo project he has found a more mature and introspective path, allowing him to fulfil his deep-seated need for greater poetic truth.
