Nell Davies Biography
“Beneath the cheery and sickly-sweet pop melodies lies a wry smile and a dry sense of humour” – Listen With Monger
“Something sweet and cloying in a good way, combined with that darkness. Loved it!” – Sarah Gosling, BBC Introducing in the South West
"A wondrous indie-pop masterclass" - Indie Rocks Radio
"It may only be April, but this song has such an infectious spring in its step it can surely turn an existential crisis into a feel-good-hit for the summer" – God is in the TV
Nell Davies started making music in lockdown, after reading Viv Albertine’s autobiography inspired her to buy a guitar and write her first song. Her music, influenced by 80s post-punk and 90s riot girl, has been described as ‘bubblegum punk’, and Listen With Monger said of her songs, ‘Beneath the cheery and sickly-sweet pop melodies lies a wry smile and a dry sense of humour’.
