About this concert
The impressive bassist/singer from Cameroon with his own quintet and Ntjam Rosie as a great guest vocalist
He has played with greats like Joe Zawinul and Pat Metheny and has been around for so long that it’s surprising he’s only fifty-seven. Richard Bona, born in Cameroon but a true citizen of the world, is blessed with a captivating voice — its slight huskiness and gentle crackle open the door to deep emotion for the listener. As a bassist, he embodies enthusiasm, joy in playing, and, not least, extraordinary technical skill. Bona draws inspiration from everywhere — jazz, rock, pop, Africa, Latin America — melding it all into his unique sound. With a special guest appearance by Ntjam Rosie, the Dutch singer who, like Bona, has Cameroonian roots, his Music Meeting performance promises to be even more remarkable.
