After winning the Beethoven International Piano Competition in 1985, Stefan Vladar became a world-renowned pianist, performing with renowned conductors and orchestras. He eventually moved into conducting, serving as music director of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra for 11 years and currently holds the positions of general music director and opera director at Lübeck, boasting more than 40 recordings and teaching younger students as a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. We hope you will enjoy Vladar's performances, in which he has built up a deep musicality in both piano and conducting.

Stefan Vladar Biography
As the youngest participant in the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, Stefan Vladar looks back on a decades-long career as a pianist and conductor that has taken him to all the major music centers of the world. He works with some of the greatest conductors and musicians of his time, including Simon Rattle and Claudio Abado, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Stefan Vladar is currently General Music and Opera Director at the Theater Lübeck, Artistic Director of the Neuberger Kulturtage and Professor of Piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
