Growing up in the eighties, I was a big fan of The Bangles. I also knew about The Cowsills from “Love American Style” and their version of “Hair”. When Vicki and John released “Long After the Fire” on Record Store Day I knew this combination would sound amazing and I was right. Their performance at Zebulon captured the joy and energy of the album and their interactions between each other was fun to witness. The set covered many of the songs from “Long After the Fire” but an added treat was when Vicki’s sister (and fellow Bangle) joined them on stage for the last three tunes. If you get the chance to see Vicki and John I highly recommend you do!
Their set list was as follows:
You in My Mind
A Thousand Times
Come to Me
Is Anybody Here
Is There Room in the New House
Fool is the Last One to Know
Manic Monday
Hair
Walk Like an Egyptian
