Bobcat Attack Biography
Bobcat Attack is the pseudonym for electronic musician Nathan Reusch. Incorporating his influences of dub, techno, and ambient electronica, Bobcat Attack creates a pulsing soundscape using his modular synthesizer, creating an inimate and lush musical tapestry.
Reusch first started making electronic music influenced by emo/punk in the early 2000s, opening for acts like Taking Back Sunday, Mewihoutyou, Coheed and Cambria, and more fitting artists like Joy Electric, Yacht, Man Man, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, and Atom and His Package. In 2003, he started his indie label, The Record Machine, and in 2011, he founded Kansas City's Middle of the Map Fest; his time and focus on making his own music came to a halt. The pandemic inspired Reusch to dust off his Bobcat Attack moniker and renewed his interest in synths. After a few months of waywardly trying to figure out patch and midi cables, he joined KC's Synth Collective and found a group of similarly-minded electronic musicians.
After a year of playing and organizing shows with the KC Synth Collective, he is regaining his footing; Reusch is ready to release his first new material with the new founded Les Bonbons Electriques a joint venture between Record Machine and electronic musican Mark Ronning (Pool Culture, Mr. Golden Sun). Bobcat Attack bridges the gap between ambient, dub-techno, and house music. The result is a rich textural environment of blooming melodies, entrancing techno beats, and ambient soundscapes that immerses the listener in a vibrant, flooding forest of electronica. His arrangements are patient and full, and there's always a new discovery bubbling underneath the surface.
