(opening acts subject to change without notice) Jimmy Eat World is an alternative rock band from Mesa, AZ consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, guitarist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind. The four-piece’s commercial breakthrough came with the release of several singles from their album Bleed American, with “The Middle” hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart and peaking at No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, where it spent 33 weeks total and became RIAA-certified Platinum. Futures, their follow-up to BA, featured “Pain”, which also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. In October 2019, the band released their tenth album, the critically acclaimed Surviving, which became one of three “chapters” of their 2021 globally streamed series Phoenix Sessions that also included Futures (Chapter V) and Clarity (Chapter III), performed in their entirety (available on YouTube here). Recently, they’ve released two independent singles, “Something Loud” and “Place Your Debts,” with the former charting on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay. This will be Jimmy Eat World's 7th time playing The Rave/Eagles Club, dating back to 1997 when they opened for Mineral and Sensefield. Most recently, the band joined Manchester Orchestra on The Eagles Ballroom stage in 2023. This is their only appearance in the 7 state area of WI, IL, IN, MI, MN, IA and MO on this tour. Amazing, they put on such a tight show. I believe this "hometown show" was outside the regular tour schedule so they played a ton of old hits. Crowd in the pit was excited and energetic but not too crazy, no mosh pit for example. My husband and I both love the band so it was so cool to go together to see them. I missed the first opening act but PVRIS and The Maine were excellent. I did not like the opening act Thursday, seemed like you had to have nostalgia for them to enjoy it, but even then their mix was bad.
