Kwashibu Area Band

Kwashibu Area Band formed in Accra, Ghana in 2015. The band was created by musicians Kwame Yeboah and Ben Abarbanel-Wolff in order to preserve and innovate the sounds of Ghanaian Highlife music. Starting in 2015, after the release of their debut album "Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band" on Strut Records, the band has toured world-wide, with more than 250 concerts including prominent appearances at festivals like Glastonbury, Roskilde, Mimo, Fiesta Sete, Africa Hertme, to name a few. Their latest album "Obiaa!", was released on Strut Records in October 2019.
In 2024, they began a collaboration with Soundway Records called “Ghana Special” featuring Charles Amoah and Pat Thomas.
