Jake Xerxes Fussell

It was a real treat to see this performance. Jake's music was evocative, inspirational, full of integrity and beautifully rendered. Very nice drums too. Natalie Wildgoose offered a great support act with fabulous vocals. Venue is friendly and cute - be aware however, there is no seating and if you're short it can be hard to see.

On of the best gigs I’ve every been to. So good I tried to get tickets for his other gigs in Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork but all were sold out. Jake was superb.

this was just what i needed in times like these. his voice is smooth as velvet. his guitar playing was awesome and the bass player put the icing on the cake. wow two people with a lot of sound, and soul. thank you for keeping these songs alive. what a treat.

Only got a ticket 2 days before the event, and thanking my lucky stars. Support artist Anna McLuckie was great with her ethereal celtic folk. I'm continually amazed at the invisible talent on the music scene, so many gifted artists you have to be lucky to discover, and who themselves need to be lucky to find their audience. Worth a listen on Spotify if you have an hour. Then Jake himself, who (it seemed) played everything I've ever listened to. No frustrating omission of your favourite song, they were all there from Love Farewell through Jubilee and The River St Johns to closing with Have You Ever Seen Peaches. Humble and quietly spoken, Jake was all that I had hoped as he engaged his audience of 300 in this quirky venue with its fine acoustics (and I've never been served beer by a vicar in his dog collar before - nice man, and very grateful for his enthusiasm for the arts.) I look forward to returning to Bethnal Green, and will keep tabs on Jake Fussell to make sure I dont miss the next time. Thanks Jake, you were absolutely great.
