To celebrate the release of ‘Old Dog/New Tricks’ Joe Mungovan will be hitting the road for a string of shows around regional Aus that you won't want to miss!
Join Joe and the band for a special free entry, late-night show in Canberra at Fun Time Pony!
Over the past decade, Mungovan has toured Australia, spreading the energy of his dynamic and striking performance talent to audiences full of new and long-time fans alike.
In that time, he has become one of the East Coast’s exciting new voices, bringing together a natural musicality with a defined storytelling tone. With his latest offering, Joe has teamed up with fellow South Coast artist Aodhan to release ‘Old Dog/New Tricks’.
The track hints at nostalgic tones to the likes of Soccer Mommy and Arlo Parks, and is about finding an escape from the all-consuming malaise that can overcome us.
“It’s been a whole year since we toured Sugar, Candy, Lips and I'm really looking forward to connecting with live audiences again. Let's go!" JOE MUNGOVAN

Joe Mungovan Biography
At the age of nine, a young Joe Mungovan would never have imagined that begging his parents “for a drum kit for Christmas” would pave his way onto some of the most prestigious stages in Australia. The now singer/songwriter, crashed his skateboard at the age of 13, leaving him unable to play his drumkit and in a wheelchair for 4 months. Joe taught himself guitar and unconsciously developed a style that blends indie rock and pop together to produce his unique style. With attention to articulate lyrics, catchy melodies and rhythmic detail, Joe’s songs express his genuine emotion. His authenticity and passion is conveyed in his intimate live show, and is an experience not worth missing.
Throughout his career, Joe Mungovan has consistently constructed melodies that expand from traditional pop and rock songwriting structures. His songs have been played across Triple j, Double j and community radio, video support across Rage and MTV and press praise in Rolling Stone, Pilerats, Music Feeds, Au Review, The Music to name a few. Mungovan’s songwriting has also seen him nominated for an APRA Award and Golden Guitar Award in 2021, and a Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.
