P.S. Lucas

P. S. Lucas has been refining the art of making songs for some time. "In Between", the solo debut, carried the echoes of the modern age masters of songwriting - from Cohen to Callahan, from Drake to Brassens - but with a signature very much of his own. In 2024 came along the electrified follow up: Villains & Chieftains. Lucas's music emanates a light not to be found anywhere else, a hue that is recognized only here: part blue, part sepia, part sea, part land, part present, part memory, part silence, part shudder. Native from the Azores islands, midway between the old and the new continents, he has spent a long journey in Copenhagen before moving back to the city of his heart: Lisbon, Portugal. He was the mind behind the electro-folklore extravaganza O Experimentar, back in 2010, and the younger half of the duo Medeiros/Lucas, authors of a critically acclaimed trilogy consisting of Mar Aberto(2015), Terra do Corpo (2016) and Sol de Março (2018).
