About Benny:
With a profound ability to connect through heartfelt lyrics and stripped-down performances, Benny Bassett has established himself as a “master songwriter” . From his early beginnings playing in bands in high school and college, to fronting Chicago-based band Vintage Blue, all the way to captivating audiences at Summerfest and Mile of Music, Bassett has “embraced the selflessness of contentment”. His musical journey has been one of authenticity and emotional storytelling.
Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and the world around him, Bassett's songs explore themes of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and the complexities of the human condition. His most recent album, "What You Believe," received a New Mexico Music Award, and stands as a testament to his introspective style and ability to convey raw emotions. Among his fans, tracks like "Live Where You Love The Sky" and "Same Mistake" have resonated deeply with audiences, earning praise for their relatable narratives and heartfelt delivery.

Benny Bassett Biography
Real. Life. Music. That is what you will hear when you drop the proverbial needle on a Benny Bassett album. Benny has held true to the themes of hope, persistence, and honesty, that have sustained him this far. “I think that trends come and go, but if you always stay true to yourself, you will find your audience, and they will stick with you through anything that comes your way,” says Bassett. Over the past eight years this philosophy has taken Benny across the world to entertain audiences across North America and Europe.
His most recent release "Through The Night" saw Benny break away from his singer-songwriter mold and throw things back to the classic sounds of Motown. As Benny often says at performances, he grew up in the Columbia House music era, so his style and influences range far and wide. His music has found it’s way on to numerous Best of reviews, and his song “House Into A Home” won a New Mexico Music Award. His rock song "Down Below" was featured in an independent film called “Caffeine & Gasoline”, which won best documentary and best soundtrack at the MotoTematica Rome Motorcylce Film Festival. Benny consistently tours around the U.S. and recently performed over 20 shows over two months in eight European countries. He has performed over 1,100 shows in 46 U.S. States, and driven over 600,000 miles across North America.
2025 finds Benny in a town near you, as he continues to spin the odometer, in search of that elusive powerful musical connection, but never far from home.
