Jaime Azcárraga C. Biography
Jaime Azcárraga C. is a Chilean-American Composer based in Las Vegas, NV. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in musical composition at the University of California Los Angeles, where his teachers were Paul Chihara, Paul Reale and Ian Krouse. He also attended a Master Class with Scottish Composer James Macmillan at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Milan. Part of his inspiration as a child to become a composer was watching “Amadeus,” a movie about Mozart. As an adult, his main artistic influences are the music of Greek composer Iannis Xenakis and the films of American Expat Stanley Kubrick, though the aesthetics of his music cannot be said to be directly linked to either of the two. In the next three to five years, Jaime hopes to find a publisher that specializes in classical contemporary music. Independently, he self-publishes and is always looking for enthusiastic musicians to collaborate with, no matter what the genre. Although mainly an autodidact, he credits the nuance and sophistication of his output to the indispensable education he received at the University of California Los Angeles and to the continuing support of his family. Jaime always looks forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals.
