BMF’s much-loved outdoor gem, Gilpin Park returns this year with shows on Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th. On Friday March 7, Gilpin Park hosts the incredible Miss Kaninna, a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon, and Yirendali woman whose music fearlessly carries forward the storytelling traditions of her ancestors. Joining her is Elsy Wameyo, a Nairobi-born, Adelaide-raised artist whose music reflects her journey of identity and self-discovery. Drawing from hip-hop, R&B, and gospel, her songs are rich with themes of heritage, resilience, and personal growth.

Elsy Wameyo Biography
Elsy Wameyo was born in Nairobi, Kenya and her latest musical offerings, ‘Nilotic’, proudly explores the strength of her self-identity. Hailing from the Nilotic tribes of Kenya, Elsy’s music embraces this cultural heritage alongside her Christian beliefs and experiences whilst growing up in Adelaide, Australia. Influenced by her love of Gospel music and contemporary RnB, Elsy intertwines soulful rhythms and impressive production underneath lyrics that clearly articulate her strong self-identity.
