Harvey Brindell & Cryin' Heart Biography
Harvey Brindell has played shows from Atlanta to Seattle and many places in-between. He's played at major blues venues, hundreds of small clubs, wineries, casinos, and festivals. He's been featured regularly at The Zoo Bar in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Harvey has played shows with Magic Slim & The Teardrops, Shawn Holt and The Teardrops, Guitar Shorty, Bernard Allison, Mitch Kashmar, The 44s, Jimmy Thackery, Mike Zito, Smokin' Joe Kubik, Kilborn Alley Blues Band, JW Jones, Chicago Rhythm & Blues Kings, Sean Chambers, Corey Stevens, Davina & The Vagabonds, Mighty Joe Young, Trampled Under Foot, Josh Hoyer & Soul Colassal,and Deak Harp. His bands have also backed Chicago legends, Taildragger, Mary Lane, Martin Lang and Johnny Burgin when they were in his area and needed a back up band.
In 2020 Harvey released his first album under his own name, Pennies On The Dollar. He also recorded two CDs with The Honeyboy Turner Band, Preachin The Blues in 1994 and Billiard Playin' Mama in 2012. He penned several of the songs that were included on each of the "Honeyboy" CDs. Both CDs sold well regionally. Both are currently out of print. One of Harv's songs, Blues For Omaha, was included on the Blues Society Of Omaha Compilation CD, Deeper Blue.
Harvey's album, Pennies On The Dollar, was nominated for a 2021 Blues Blast Magazine Award for Best Artist Debut Recording. Harvey was twice nominnated for Cascade Blues Association Muddy Award for Best New Act (2016, 2017) and twice nominated for OEAA (Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards) Best Blues Band Awards (2013, 2014).
