hybrid forms

Hybrid Forms is a communal exercise rooted in a commonality for playful lunacy. Kismet created a concurrence of Portland-based sonic devotees to create an aggregate of heavy rock, twangy indie, poetry, loose samples, and ambient passages. In isolation in 2020, HF recorded sessions and stitched highlights that became our mixtape, Greatest Hits. In 2021, HF flew out to Philly to record, returning to the PNW a week later with 7 songs, which became their first full length studio album, Minor Triumphant. "The band name came coded in the form of a reciprocal gift from Tim Kinsella after giving him weed at the last Joan of Arc show in Portland. He handed us a zine that uses the term Hybrid Forms a lot throughout the book and it fits our ideology and sound(s)". These influences manifest for us in our next basket of sounds, an EP entitled Daydream Indignation, due to release in summer 2024
