Imp Da Dimp Biography
Prepare to unleash your inner dancing machine with IMP DA DIMP, the live boogaloo band guaranteed to turn any venue into a full-blown dance party.
Forget stiff suits and polite applause – these guys bring the funk in a dazzling display of vibrant colors, creating a visual spectacle that complements the infectious energy of their music. Imagine a stage bursting with color, each member rocking a suit as eye-catching as their musical talent.
Adam Rafferty, (guitar for Dr. Lonnie Smith, Jimmy “Preacher” Robbins, Dizzy Gillespie Big Band, Bob Cranshaw, Mike Longo and appearances with Tommy Emmanuel and Tortured Soul) is a New York City veteran with Harlem's late-night jazz scene, and lays down tasty guitar riffs that will have you moving. Felipe Ramos lays down a fat, funky foundation on bass, while Philipp Rist conjures his irresistible melodies from the Hammond B3 organ. And Florian Kasper, the rhythmic mastermind behind the drums keeps the party pumping with infectious beats and creative hip-hop samples.
Their influences are a delicious melting pot of funk and groove. Fans of James Brown, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Grant Green will find familiar soulful swagger, while those who dig Jimi Hendrix, Parliament Funkadelic, and Daft Punk will appreciate the band's modern edge.
Get ready to dance - IMP DA DIMP is the ultimate party band, guaranteed to get your audience shaking their groove thing and leave them begging for more.
Their debut album, "Deep Dark and Delicious," captures this energy to perfection. Featuring all original compositions recorded live and entirely on analog equipment, it's a sonic snapshot of the raw energy you'll experience at their live shows.
