Michael Franti & Spearhead returns to The BayCare Sound in Downtown Clearwater as part of his Welcome To The Family Tour with special guest Niko Moon! Michael Franti is a globally recognized musician, activist, and award-winning filmmaker celebrated for his high-energy live shows, inspiring music, worldwide philanthropic efforts, and unshakable optimism. Over his multi-decade career, Franti has earned three Billboard #1 hits with the uplifting anthems Sound of Sunshine, Say Hey (I Love You) and I Got You, along with six Top 30 Hot AC singles, 10 Top 25 AAA singles, and three Billboard Top 5 Rock Albums. His 13th studio album, Big Big Love, released in November 2023, debuted in the Top 5 on the iTunes Pop Chart behind Taylor Swift. Praised by American Songwriter as “an energizing batch of songs that spotlight the common threads that connect us,” the album features 17 tracks co-written by Franti, showcasing his signature tenacity, inclusiveness, and optimism.

It was an amazing concert!!!. Loved the way he turns the whole venue into a big dance party and gets the audience and his whole family involved on stage. The spontaneous singalong was also a huge unexpected highlight. Would definitely see Michael Franti live again in the future ❤️✌️.

Michael Franti is a musician, humanitarian, and filmmaker who is recognized as a pioneering force in the music industry. Franti believes in using music as a vehicle for positive change and is revered for his hi-energy live shows, inspiring music, and worldwide philanthropy efforts.
Giving back has always been at the heart of Franti’s mission. He has dedicated his life to spreading the joy of music and positivity to millions of people. In 2013 Michael and his wife Sara founded Do It For The Love Foundation to grant live concert music wishes to people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges and wounded veterans throughout North America. Franti believes that
in granting live concert music wishes, he is helping those in need to feel supported, loved, happy and hopeful.
Franti is a respected yoga practitioner and is the owner and co-founder of Soulshine Bali, a yoga and wellness retreat oasis in Indonesia. Franti is passionate about promoting a holistic and globally conscious lifestyle and organizes pre-concert yoga meetups in communities along his tours.
In creating their ninth studio album SOULROCKER, Michael Franti & Spearhead introduced a new sensibility to their potent hybrid of hip-hop, rock, folk, and reggae: a gracefully arranged take on electronic music that more than fulfills the band’s mission of making impassioned music you can dance to. Along with harnessing the Bay Area-based band’s dynamic energy for a more powerful impact than ever before, SOULROCKER again showed Franti’s singular ability to channel frustration into music that’s both thought-provoking and triumphantly hopeful.
Once an outlier in his message of positivity-minded political consciousness, Franti has found that message gaining momentum in the mainstream in recent years, a phenomenon that compelled him to push his artistry even further, stating “I feel a deeper sense of purpose in music today than I ever have in my career. My goal is to make the most inspiring music I possibly can for this intense, crazy and wonderful time we’re all living in.”
