SAT FEB 15 Jay Summerour & Friends ***BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!!*** Hersey's Gaithersburg MD Happy Birthday Jay!!! An integral part of the D.C. and Maryland blues scene, Piedmont blues harmonica master and vocalist Jay Summerour has worked for decades, teaming up with fantastic blues guitarist Warner Williams, and also as a trio with drummer Eric Selby under the billing "Little Bit A Blues". The group released an album for Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, performed at The Kennedy Center, has been featured in Living Blues Magazine, and much more. Jay Summerour was influenced by the time he spent with other blues luminaries such as Sonny Terry, James Cotton and Magic Dick, as well as his grandfather Smack Martin who was also an accomplished blues harmonica player. Summerour has performed with Mick Fleetwood, Louisiana Red, Honey Boy Edwards, Junior Wells, Eleanor Ellis, Mike Baytop, Starland Vocal Band, Nils Lofgren & Grin, and many more. The upcoming Sat Feb 15 concert will include drummer extraordinare Eric Selby, tasteful bassist Chris Brown, and guitarist/vocalist Sol Roots. And this will be a special birthday celebration for Mr Jay Summerour!!! The band members have worked and performed with artists such as Allison Russell ( Birds of Chicago ), Mike Finnigan, Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, Albert White, John Mayer, Warren Haynes, and more.
