The New Conrad Miller Trio Biography
The New Conrad Miller Trio
Wildflowers is our new and already 4th album :)
The title refers to a composition by Wayne Shorter on his LP ‚SPEAK NO EVIL‘ (released in 1966).
For us wildflowers have several symbolic meanings including happiness, joy, and remembrance. As a trio we had so much fun and joy while recording this album. Therefore, we hope to spread that positive energy, whenever you hear us playing live, or while listening to our album. We are all Wildflowers in our own unique way.
Enjoy!
Early 2018 pianist, composer Coen Molenaar released the CD and LP "Sounding Silence '. Together with Mark Eshuis (drums) and David de Marez Oyens (double-bass) they are ' The New Conrad Miller Trio'.
Use of South American rhythms and harmonies combined with traditional Jazz as well as blues and soul result in lyrical, impressionistic compositions. Arrangements are both melancholic and at the same time joyful. Classic harmony and counterpoint coupled with high energy, authentic powerful grooves bring a new color and dimension to the traditional Jazz trio.
The album has been received very well internationally which resulted in nice concerts throughout Germany, Poland and Benelux.
Randy Brecker:
“This is a romantic set by the trio…. every track strikes an emotional nerve and every track has a strong groove that'll capture your heart along with your mind...really liked this!”
{sir} Jan Akkerman:
A total unique style in exploring harmonical technical possibilities in a more Latin as well as a bebop approach. The themes for improvisation sound like common ground, until the trio takes off into in almost separate ways still form a unity in timing and swing.
A delight for the heart, ears and soul.”

Heavily swinging main stream Jazz on a high level, Con Alma is a highly attractive package – for example for friends of Tingvall or Emil Brandqvist Trio.
(Rolf Thomas / JAZZTHING)
Vigorously swinging… Here jazz gets ventilated!
(Jochen Siemens / STERN )
Molenaar’s touch on the keys, always leaves space for the elegant bass lines and the dancing cymbals of his companions. But finally it’s the latin tinted showpieces such as “Bossa Del Calvito“ or „No Dancing“ (the song name is a good joke) that distinguish the band from the masses of piano trios.
