About this concert
A night of introspection and storytelling through the eyes and compositions of Boston rising artists, Caio e Jess, Dom the Composer, and Mioera. Caio e Jess is led by American vocalist, Jessica Curran and Brazilian guitarist, Caio Afiune. The two uniquely blend their backgrounds in Jazz, Rock-Pop and Brazilian Music to create genre-bending organic and lush compositions. Both professors at Berklee College of music and with awards such as the ASCAP Young Composers Award and John Lennon Songwriting Contest under their belts, Caio e Jess provide an ethereal, unique and immersive show of virtuosic electricity with either full band or duo. Their works explore the many forms of compassion shown to ourselves, to each other, and to the planet with poetic lyrics, dreamy landscapes, rich harmonies and a synthesis of acoustic instruments and modern technology. Dom the Composer is a Boston area-based Haitian-American singer-songwriter with a mission: to make music with some rhythm, a little bit of blues, and a whole lotta soul. Starting his musical journey in the All Saints Choir of Men & Boys in Ashmont, Dom draws inspiration from these early beginnings and mixes elements from some of his current favorite artists like Bill Withers, Daniel Caesar, Moonchild, Thirdstory, Lawrence, Mac Ayres, Jacob Collier, and Lizzy McAlpine. He hopes to inspire vulnerability, joy, and self-reflection with every note and every word that he can. Mioera (Mio-era) is a Boston-based music project created by singer-songwriter Yifei Zhou. Born out of intimate, bedroom songwriting sessions, Mio-era is a collection of deeply personal songs that reflect Yifei’s journey as a woman navigating both struggle and self-discovery. Through her music, Yifei explores themes of empowerment, vulnerability, and the healing process. Each track is a reflection of the solutions and coping mechanisms she has discovered along the way, with the hope that her songs offer the same sense of solace and catharsis to listeners that they have brought to her. With a raw, emotive sound, Mio-era aims to connect, heal, and inspire.

Caio e Jess Biography

Caio e Jess is led by American vocalist, Jessica Curran and Brazilian guitarist, Caio Afiune. The two uniquely blend their backgrounds in Jazz, Rock-Pop and Brazilian Music to create genre-bending organic and lush compositions. Both professors at Berklee College of music and with awards such as the ASCAP Young Composers Award and John Lennon Songwriting Contest under their belts, Caio e Jess provide an ethereal, immersive and honest show of virtuosic electricity with either full band or duo. Their works explore the many forms of compassion shown to ourselves, to each other, and to the planet with poetic lyrics, sophisticated harmonies and a synthesis of organic instruments and modern technology.

In Northern Brazil, a natural phenomenon occurs called “Encontro das Águas” translating from Portuguese to “The Meeting of the Waters”. Two distinctly different rivers meet and flow side by side, unmixed for miles, before heading toward the ocean as one. Caio e Jess strive to embody this philosophy as a married international couple using their shared experiences to create compositions unlike any other. Currently, the two are gearing up to release their debut full-length album, “The Meeting of the Waters”, featuring some of the finest musicians from around the globe including prestigious guests such as Laura Perrudin, Marissol Mwaba, Henrique Eisenmann and Raphael Barata.
