Unknown Caller Biography
Blending together sun-faded synths and easy grooves, Unknown Caller creates a chill vibe, inspiring warm nights and city life. Based in Brooklyn, NY, Unknown Caller writes, records and produces all of his music from his apartment.
His latest single, “Borderline,” was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop editorial playlist, received airplay on BBC nan Gàidheal, debuted at #85 on the NACC radio charts and was highlighted by indie tastemaker playlists BIRP! and Compact Cassette. “Borderline” is the featured track from Unknown Caller’s collection of summer singles, which also include “Waste Our Time” and “Sometimes (feat. Noah Chenfeld).” All tracks were mastered by Bobby Knepper (Dreamer Boy) and feature artwork from Ishaq Fahim (Brother Sports).
Unknown Caller debuted in 2016 with his Columns EP, a genre-bending collection of tracks ranging from synth pop to lofi beats. In the following years, Unknown Caller released the danceable singles “Sayonara” and “See You Again,” and made his live debut, performing alongside Danz CM (fka Computer Magic) and FM Attack. At the beginning of 2021, Unknown Caller released “Midnight Deluxe,” a sample-based, vaporwave project via the internet label, Business Casual. Within the project’s debut weekend, it sold out its limited cassette run and was featured in Bandcamp’s release highlights. After releasing his collection of summer singles, Unknown Caller is back in the studio, planning new music for 2022.
With editorial support from Spotify and Bandcamp, online coverage from DIY Mag, We All Want Someone To Shout For and key support from BBC and college radio, Unknown Caller is making himself known.
