Loomes, Menko, Greet & Adam Weikert R Loomes is a Sheffield based solo musician crafting moody, atmospheric guitar compositions with lots of big, dark spaces and drifting points of light. With haunting vocals and elegant guitar, she makes music that, despite its minimal and often quiet content reaches hypnotic and mesmerising heights. Menko is the music project of Katrina Awramenko (producer, singer, cellist, pianist and music therapist) - looping harmonies and delicate, finger-picked guitar lines, influenced by ambient electronica and folk, form the basis of her compositions. Greet is the new dark folk solo project from Matthew Broadley, the former drummer of Black Metal band Dawn Ray’d. Harmonium driven drones and textures combined with wonky melodies. 4 Odes to winter, nature, the drudgery of work and beer. A labour of love and fear, of hope and anxiety, of joy and hate. After two acclaimed singer/songwriter releases as ‘Weikie’, Adam’s now returning to the roots of his musical education. Combining classical training alongside experimental production and instrumentation, he creates unique soundscapes using found recordings, graphics tablets, musical scores, and much much more. £10.00 plus booking fee.
